Dancing Elephants Press is moving into the second volume of our magazine, and we will be focussing on the theme of empowerment. Empowerment is about seizing control of your life. It’s about more than surviving each day, doing what we think we should. It’s about waking up with purpose and excitement, ready to tackle the day. It’s about turning Mondays into opportunities and maximizing every moment. Does this sound like something you want in your life?
Why Did We Choose Empowerment?
Empowerment allows you to take control of your life, career, relationships, parenting, environment, health, community, time, business, and money. It will enable you to take inspired action and set and accomplish goals to get you where you want to be.
How Will This Benefit You?
Each week, we will bring you a different theme to awaken, inspire, and empower you to live your best life. This week, we are starting with recovery, which includes everything from drugs and alcohol to relationship comebacks and recovering from life’s setbacks.
Empowerment creates confidence, independence, accountability, and freedom so that you can live authentically. This will open doors to unlimited possibilities. We hope you will subscribe, comment, and become an active part of our community as you begin your journey of empowerment.
Moving Forward
By DR Rawson
How do you think you could move forward? How do you get to the next level? How can you create an environment for change? Where do you begin?
The Beginning
Tony Robbins said, (paraphrased): ‘One never makes any sort of change until they look into their own future and realize it’s always going to be this way.’
Personal
Did you ever ask yourself, “How the ____ blank did I get here?” I know I have. In fact, periodically, as I look at all the blessings in my life, I can look back and recognize that it was at that moment, on that day, in that situation, I realized, “THIS IS NOT WHAT I WANT.” Haven’t you come to that same resolution? The singer Peggy Less once sang, “Is that all there is, my friend…”
Empowerment begins when you realize that you don’t have to accept it any longer, whatever it is. The first step is recovery. Give yourself permission to say, “This is of my own making, and I’m going to forgive myself and others and move on to what I want.”
I’m 77 years old with less time in front than behind me. So what. What am I going to do in the next twenty-three years? That’s what is important to me.
I’ve long since forgiven myself for my past mistakes, poor decisions, and mental hurts toward some people that I care deeply about. I can now move on to being the best version of myself, on any day, at any time.
It’s possible. We encourage you to follow us and subscribe. We’ll show you how.

Empowerment is an intriguing and exciting topic to follow! I am super motivated to write about it and interact with you all. Thanks for putting together this wonderful announcement!
I feel so blessed to have found your publication. After my recovery from severe mental illness, someone decided to take over my Facenook and Instagram! Just when I was starting my coaching. They said they could do it better! So, instead of letting that bother me, I started reaching out within my local community. I have made more friends and have laughed and loved more than ever. And, now I have found Medium and Sinstack! I told my ex-boyfrirnd who is still a dear friend that my great-grandmothet's dream has come true for me (well, maybe O left that first part out) and I am becoming Jo March@
Every day off of medication is a pleasure and a victory. I truly have been learning how to savor each and every moment. And, I can't wait to read more stories of Recovery and write some more about my own experience
