This weekend I had the opportunity to walk along the Astoria River trail heading east from Pier 39 out toward beautiful water views and wildlife. A visitor in town joined me and told me about his life for half of the walk. This happens to me often. people share what needs to be shared. I went to the trail hoping to find some rowanberries and they were all gone. I suppose the birds, the wind, and the cold temperatures took care of the berries before my arrival.
At first, I was disappointed. Then I realized this is the perfect time to be in the moment, empty my mind, and let nature engulf me with the beauty and serenity it provides. The cold air touched my skin. The drizzling rain landed on my hands and face forming a small creek heading down on my comfortable wool coat.
I did not care about any of this. I let the mystical wonders of nature crawl into my mind and overtake my being. I moved with the rhythm of nature. Not making a sound. I observed the birds flying around without a sound, gently swimming and rocking with the waves.
I was at peace.

Then I took out my phone and decided to record the last 20 minutes of my walk. I wanted to share the joy I felt with others. I hope you enjoy these moments as much as I did.
Thank you so much for reading my pondering,
May your day be joyful,
Gabriella
