The Picture Book That Popped Off the Shelf, from My Spirit of Make-Believe.
Reviews:
Mr. Steve Wolzer: From the chocolatey-smudged fingers to the laughing raindrops this short story is a hoot for both the little ones and their parents. Very imaginative colorful tale. Very suitable to be read aloud to the kids where their minds will be expanded with the fantastic images or read by the children themselves. They will travel with the clever author to different lands with fanciful characters and eventually be transported back safely home. 5 stars!
Delmar: What a wonder of a book. It pops with fantasy. Every child deserves the opportunity to let imagination fly, meet a bookstore owner by the name of Mr. Podge, and a safe happy place to land. It's a lovely read.
Claudia L. Morse; The book by Ms.Lieberman "The Picture Book That Popped Off The Shelf" is a fanciful adventure into where one's imagination can take you. Lots of funny characters that Ben meets on his journey. What a great story. Love the rich images and playfulness and joy of silly words.
Peter Kiv: If you long for that special day or evening that existed before screens became babysitters, and a parent or grandparent could ignite the imagination of a child by sharing a picture book at bedtime, then Bonnie Lieberman and Gabriella Korosi have created a ticket for you with "The Picture Book That Jumped Off The Shelf". With Ms. Lieberman's dynamic prose, and Dr. Korosi's immersive illustrations eight-year-old Benjamin's journey into Mr. Podge's bookstore introduces Ben to a special picture book that has been waiting just for him. Ben's ongoing adventures with birds, leopards, and whales to name a few, sparks his imagination while building a sense of respect for both himself and others. This is the type of book where both the pre and early readers will frequently find comfort in hearing it repeatedly at bedtime, fostering a type of bond no IPAD can provide.
DB Queens: It's super playful. It sparkles I can hear you reading it and I can hear the kids laughing with delight. I especially like how the story brings together so many fantasy elements of kids' books from all times and places. I liked "The words and pictures were dripping with excitement. the rich images and playfulness and joy of silly words.
Rob M.: I read your short storybook and liked it a lot. I thought it was a creative storyline filled with descriptive verses. I really liked the narrative. You can imagine a little boy speaking to his Mom. The verses are so descriptive, that you visualize and feel like you are in the setting with the characters.
THE PRETEEN YEARS
Poem By Bonnie Ann Lieberman
Taking friends, I used to know
Gone without closure.
Touched by many,
Betrayed by some
The pranks we pulled.
“Is your refrigerator running?
Then, you’d better go catch it!”
The sleepovers, chatting all night
“Girls, go to sleep. It’s late.”
The arguments: friends one day
Quitting the team, the next.
But they felt comfortable with me
And talked to me about problems
If they needed someone to just listen
Without making judgments
And they were loyal, too.
What have they been up to in the last fifty years?
It’s best sometimes not to know.
Fifty years? Couldn’t be. I’m thirty.
Don’t I wish?
A dream? I can’t figure it out.
Can you?
Winter Wonder
Poem by Gabriella
Winter Wonder
Stepping into the winter world
Chill and cold come to hold.
The show flies and survives.
The shining sun hides.
Stepping out into the cold flow.
Puppies playing, enjoying the snow.
Running and hopping
Having much fun.
The winter land brings smiles and pun.
Beautiful and white,
Just like a blanket,
Covers the land
With the powdered trinket.
Enjoy the snow,
Thanking winter for coming by,
Bringing joy from the sky.

Welcome to Paddington Village in England. In this small village, amphibians, not people, rule the world. What is true is that with the help of real people and writers worldwide, we tell children stories that help them develop in the best possible ways. Using Drabbles, we tell stories that excite the imagination and explain the importance of principles like honesty, kindness, sharing, and so much more.
