Yesterday I had a fun but frustrating moment with our oldest child, who is in third grade at a Hungarian school.
For homework, he needed to find words in Hungarian that start with the letter “L” and include the letter combination “ly.” My husband and I thought hard but couldn’t come up with any suitable words. It was puzzling because how could something so simple be so hard to find? Curious to solve the mystery, we decided to use technology to help us quickly.
We first tried Google and then asked ChatGPT for assistance, thinking these tools would surely give us a word that fit. Unfortunately, we didn’t get any helpful answers. ChatGPT even made up a word, “lázly,” which doesn’t exist in Hungarian!
