25 Character Traits That Will Make You A Better Person (A Weekly Series) - Number Four
I wish I were . . .

Resilience is a god send. I used to say when I was teaching my yoga classes, “You are stronger than you can even imagine.” I was referring to both physical and mental strength. Most people do not know how strong they are until something really bad happens in life and they have no choice but to show up and face the obstacle head on.
Everyone falls down when they take risks, but the ability to stand back up, dust yourself off and keep going… that is the essence of resilience. And, if we can laugh at the mistakes and during the hard times, even better.
Stick around for DR’s amazing tip of week four’s characteristic trait, resilience, that will empower you to keep moving forward and upward in life.
The FORTH core character trait is resilience. Have you ever heard the saying, “Life is a marathon, not a sprint?” That saying also applies to resilience. Just because something terrible happened doesn’t mean you can’t get back up. It’s a marathon, regardless of which end of the spectrum, from an age perspective, you find yourself. You have the time to achieve so much.
My wife and I talked, and we said, “You haven’t lived until you’ve made 1,000 mistakes or more.”
As a species, we’re more resilient than you can fathom. We can completely change. We have that power. If you think something is stopping you, it just means you haven’t figured out how to overcome that challenge. Life is a marathon. Live it.
The FIFTH core character trait is responsibility. This is one of my favorites. This one trait, the ability to accept responsibility, will set you apart from the herd. When you accept responsibility and hold yourself accountable you’re out front, ahead of so many in life.
When people understand, and you’ve demonstrated that you are responsible, others will be a path to your door. I’m not going to address the dark side. Let’s keep it real. Don’t let others take the blame for your failure
